Our Background

Growing up in Yorba Linda, they honed their leadership skills doing many extracurricular activities including Girl Scouts, softball and more. Aside from playing flute & piccolo, Linsey led her high school band as section leader and Drum Major while Leah played violin and made waves in Orchestra and Associated Student Body (ASB). Then, after high school, and inspired by The Wedding Planner movie with JLO, the twins went off to learn more about the industry while going to separate colleges. Leah graduated in three years from Cal Poly Pomona with a Business Management and Human Resources degree, while Linsey graduated in four years from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Entrepreneurship. After a certification class at Cal Poly Pomona, The Double Knot was launched late 2007 thanks to the teamwork and support of the Entrepreneur program at CSUF. Now, with their talents combined, they bring you 17 years of experience creating smooth and easy events for their couples!

The Twin Dynamic

The twins may seem like two of the same persons, but in reality, they each have strengths that work together like a string and a kite. As described in the podcast in the link below, Linsey takes care of the business side of things, while Leah is the creative eyes and keeps the social media running. Their relationship creates a seamless workflow as they tag-team alongside each other in events and sometimes even reading each other’s minds. Most couples have no idea what actually happened behind the scenes at their event because of the mutual understanding of their work creates a stress-free event for their clients. For example, at the end of the night, while one coordinator is inviting guests out to the front of the venue for the grand exit, the other is catching them and organizing them into two lines and passing out sparklers. It’s a seamless system and they do it without having to discuss the plan and any changes are communicated via radio from across the venue. They can be in two places at once and intuition keeps them one step ahead of the competition.

Tips for Wedding Planning

The twins are right by your side during your event to ensure the plan stays on time and on target. Their goal is for you to enjoy your event like a guest without worrying what is happening behind the scenes. You want lion dancers, a tea ceremony and three locations? Or, maybe a live band with a surprise visit from Darth Vader? Whatever your vision is, the twins will customize all those plans and ready prepare them before the scheduled go-time. They understand and strive to make it YOUR day whatever that dream and vision may be. They will be there to guide vendors, fix problems, sew people back into their dresses, and clean up spills before it effects the guests or timeline. The point is, with so many moving parts in your event, you need a professional (and passionate) coordinator for your event day who is willing to jump in and take the lead for you all day long. The twins are definitely a team you can trust (not to mention they are entertaining for your guests when they think that they are seeing double)!

Key Takeaways

As mentioned in the podcast, it is important to hire professionals for your wedding team and not just asking your friend or family member to help out. Your family and friends want to celebrate and drink and dance… and not be responsible for the success of your day. For example, if you have your friend in charge of the setup and she gets behind schedule because she is swamped with getting herself and her family ready and greeting guests, will that negatively affect your relationship with them in the future? Let your friends and family enjoy the celebration and hire a professional team of vendors to take care of your event.

It is also important to put your style and vibes into your wedding because every wedding is different and unique. Pick the song the screams your personality or pick the cake topper that has your dog in it and makes everyone giggle. Those are the little touches that make your event stand out from the rest. If you want churros instead of cake, do it! It is your day and your love that is being celebrated! Your wedding should reflect that. Unpopular opinion: please stop worrying about what is trending!!
