Winter is wrapping up and Spring is in the air! We can already hear the birds chirping and can envision the plants waking up as the world transitions into celebrating weddings in a fresh Spring fashion. Spring is a time of renewal as the plants (and people) come out of hibernation. There is no better time to celebrate your new season of marriage, than to host a Spring wedding.

Understanding Color Psychology

When you are thinking about what colors to use for your Spring wedding color palette, there may be a reason you are drawn to those Spring tones. Did you know that a light pink color of freesias or roses can evoke emotions like romance or admiration. It’s a great color choice since it is very calming and soft on the senses. Mint greens present the feeling of freshness, happiness and joy. Maybe throw in a few white daisies or babies breath to represent true love, innocence, and beauty. So many of these spring colors like lavendar, blush, or mint are very versatile and can be paired with so many other colors.

Spring’s Trending Palettes

What are some great trendy wedding color combinations? There are so many! We always love a good blush pink with touches of sage green and cream for a soft romantic vibe. Or, for a more whimsical look pair lavender, periwinkle, and gold together. Looking for something more fresh and bold? Try adding in citrus colors with orange, yellow, and green. We have even seen actual oranges and lemons place in the centerpiece vases or scattered around for decor!

Pulling it all Together

Need a little more inspiration? Head over to Pinterest for more Spring wedding ideas. Scrolling through ideas on there and seeing which photos draw your eye will test your style. Do you like the bold colors, or something softer? Be sure to make a Pinterest board of your own to easily reveal your true colors. Then, all you need to do is pull them into your event. You can place the colors in the centerpieces, in your invitations with lettering or ribbons, on the cake with your topper or floral decor, and of course you want to use them in your personal bouquets and bridal party attire. Placing your colors in all the places will surely pull your Spring wedding color palette all together.

Local Touches for Southern California Brides

Don’t forget that Spring here in sunny Southern California can mean even more Spring vibe ideas as we are close to the beach and a lot of times the colors of your venue can help dictate your color scheme choices. If the ocean is in the backdrop of your reception view, maybe consider pastel blues to compliment that feature with sand or desert neutrals as an accent. Talk to your florist about what they recommend, what is in season, and what they think will help your venue shine as you build your specific vision. We absolutely love working with Melanie from Bella Blooms Floral Design Studio in Anaheim because she listens to your ideas, and helps you design your vision with your budget in mind.
